From the golden sands of the tropical paradise of Barbados emerges Alicia Clarke, a plus size model with a plus size attitude for success. At age 35, Alicia has been very much engulfed in the world of plus size modeling, she is also a consultant at the University of the West Indies in Barbados and a nail-technician/hairdresser. Born on March 1, 1977, Alicia started her modeling career at the age of 32 with the manager of Ebony Models Barbados, Mr. Kingsley Thorne. Since then Alicia has gone on to work with New York fashion designer and owner of Jewel Shannon Designs, Ms. Jewel Shannon. Alicia has also worked with Mr. Walter Richards, producer of The 12 Days Of Christmas fashion show produced in Barbados in 2010 and 2011 and Ms. Morella Butcher a fashion designer from Boston, Massachusetts. To add to her accomplishments, Alicia was named Miss Barbados Plus Size Model in 2010 and is still the reigning champion of this event. Now, Alicia has set her eyes on the Miss Plus Size Caribbean Universe where she is the delegate representing her homeland of Barbados. This event comes off at the Hilton Hotel in Barbados on August 19th where she will be going up against 19 other delegates from the region. As if all of that wasn’t enough, Alicia has judged several fashion shows and will also be producing her first Miss Plus Size Model show slated for later this year. With all that being said I guess it’s fair to say that this caramel skinned beauty is having an illustrious career in the world of plus size modeling and is prone to bring home the crown for the Miss Plus Size Caribbean Universe 2012.
